I spent a research stint at UMIACS — the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies — broadening my exposure to research methods outside the immersive-tech bubble I'd been working in.

The UMIACS engagement gave me exposure to research methods and computational practices outside immersive technology — a useful corrective at a time when I was deep in headsets and could have used the perspective.
